You know there are many misconceptions regarding digital marketing.

Some people may say digital marketing is different from marketing.

Let me tell you one thing

There are two types of marketing

  1. Traditional/ conventional marketing
  2. Digital marketing

Now you know that Digital marketing is a part of marketing or you can say that digital is a medium by which you are marketing your product or services.

Before going in-depth

Let me ask you a question

“The action or business of promoting and selling products or services, including market research and advertising is called marketing.”

Now you have the idea of marketing.

Let’s have a brief idea of the fundamental of marketing. Because without knowing the fundamentals you can’t do marketing.

So here it is,

Let me add one more “P” to it.

That is “people” without considering the people or the target auditions you can’t find out where to promote your product/ services. The price of your product/ services.

So peoples or target auditions are a main factor of marketing.

Now we know what is marketing and have a brief knowledge of the fundamentals.

Let’s deepen our knowledge.

As you have read above that there are two ways of marketing.

Digital marketing and

Traditional marketing

Digital Marketing vs. Traditional marketing.

Let’s dive in first,

Traditional marketing:-

“Traditional marketing refers to any type of marketing that isn’t online. Traditional marketing plays an important part in reaching local audiences. Ads can be kept for a long period of time if they’re physical”.

In the early days of marketing, there are various ways of marketing (you can say offline ways) some of them are mentioned below:-

  1. Print
  2. Broadcast
  3. Phone
  4. Billboards
  5. Newspapers

Radio and TV ads are also considered traditional marketing ways.

All the above-mentioned methods have limitations on their own.

Some of the ways reach hundreds of customers (billboards, newspapers, prints, etc.) and some of them reach millions of customers (radio, tv ads).

But there was a problem,

You don’t know if a customer has seen your ads or not.

There was no method to find out if a customer engaged with your ads or not.

These types of limitations are not present in the digital medium or digital marketing.

Here we have another method of marketing.

Digital marketing:-

“Digital marketing is the component of marketing that utilizes the internet and online-based digital technologies such as desktop computers, mobile phones and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services”.

And they are,

  1. Search engine marketing (SEM)
  2. Search engine optimization (SEO)
  3. Content marketing
  4. Email marketing
  5. Social media marketing (SMM)
  6. Affiliate marketing

Marketing with the help of the above methods is called digital marketing.

Now you have an idea of what is traditional marketing and digital marketing.

If you are still reading this blog post then I assume that you are interested in digital marketing.

You will say;

‘ok Amit I am interested in digital marketing but tell me one thing how am I gonna make money or how digital marketing gonna make wealth for me’.

You have asked the right question.

And the answer is the ‘CATT’ marketing funnel.

I know you are just gonna say what the heck is this ‘CATT’.

CATT is the core of digital marketing my friend.

The CATT Marketing Funnel and Framework

Let’s have a view on this formula

(n) Niche: your success depends on the niche (area/subject of expertise) you choose.

(C) Content: means blog post, video, lead magnets, live webinar, etc. all these are parts of the content. Content doesn’t mean only the “text” written on the blog.

(A) Attention: drive attention to your content by using various methods like SEO, Social Media, Paid Ads, and Referrals.

(T) Trust: build trust with your audience by a tripwire, making automation, and retargeting.

(T) Transaction: convert your lead/ audience into your customers.

You know a lot of people try to get results by applying each segment separately.

Let’s say one person is trying to get results only by working on SEO/ Email marketing/ Content marketing. When they didn’t get the result they will say SEO/ Email marketing/ Content marketing is not working nowadays.

But this is not true.

You know why.

Because they didn’t know about integrated digital marketing.

Let’s have a look at it.

The Integrated Digital Marketing

Integrated digital marketing is, as it sounds, the integration of multiple marketing strategies to form a cohesive online approach for your business.

You connect with people by SEO, Paid Advertising, Social media posts, and email list.

If you want to convert your leads into sells then you have to move your leads through social media to your content, by paid advertising to your content, by SEO to your content, and by email list to your content.

Let’s take an example

There are many dots in a picture and each dot is important to frame the picture but if you try to frame the picture by only collecting the few dots then you never gonna complete the picture. You have to collect each dot and give the same value to them. Then is the only chance you can frame that picture.

This exact method is applicable in digital marketing. I want results then we have to work with all the segments simultaneously. And that is called the integrated digital marketing.

Now you will say

Hey Amit it’s so confusing

There are two frameworks to follow which one should I follow to get the results.

So the answer is;

The CATT framework consists of all the components and the components work in an integrated way to get the results.

They are not separated.

Let’s go back to our example

For making a picture you have to connect all the dots. Not by only collecting them.

Elon Musk is a very popular person or if I may he is a great influencer.

Once he Tweets about a company’s vision and within a short period the shares of the company raises. People start investing in that company.

That’s the power of Elon musk’s tweet.

There is so much in digital marketing to talk about. And once you start talking it is difficult to stop.

If you are good at something and nobody knows it. Then no one gonna hires you.

But

If you are not the best but everyone thinks that you are best according to them then you will beat the best.

Let’s go back to our example Elon musk

You know Elon Musk has a bigger following on Twitter than Tesla and SpaceX.

How?

Because Elon musk established himself as a brand.

If Elon Musk wants to start a new company then the investors and the customers will follow him without having a doubt.

Because of the power of personal branding, Elon Musk has become a great influencer and a brand ambassador for the company he runs.
